The Southern Playboys take the task of playing for your function very seriously and make every effort to avoid any unforeseen hick-ups. One of the ways we try to achieve this is by ensuring our sound and lighting crew set-up their equipment prior to your guests sitting down to their meal, unlike other bands no extra fee is charged for this.

The band like to eliminate as much as possible any item that may cause upset to you or your guests on such an important occasion and love working with other professionals who are of the same opinion.

The equipment is set-up prior to the meal mainly,

1. to ensure they are no long delays between the meal and the first dance, which in turn greatly reduces the amount of playing and dancing time. 
2. to eliminate freezing the guests as doors have to be left open when the band equipment is being brought in,
3. to avoid annoying sound checks as the equipment is being checked  and
4. from the bands point of view ensuring the sound levels are not too loud and
5. the most important, avoid last minute problems with equipment not working.

All venues operate at different levels due mainly to size constraints. For your convenience the band have compiled a list of venues we have played over the last few years and have indexed them into various categories.  

Most of the following hotels have a purpose built large function room with a designate stage. They normally expect the band to be setup prior to meals being served and have little or no movement of  tables following the meal thus avoiding disruption to guests once seated allowing an immediate start to the show.
